A Testament to Valencia’s Winemaking Heritage

Flor de Taverners is a distinguished red wine from the renowned Heretat de Taverners estate in Valencia, Spain. Crafted from organically cultivated 90% Monastrell and 10% Tempranillo grapes, this wine embodies the rich viticultural traditions of the region. The estate, with a history dating back to 1667, has been meticulously restored to preserve its winemaking legacy. The vineyards thrive in loamy-clay soils with natural vegetation cover, contributing to the wine’s unique character.

 

Winemaking Process

The winemaking process focuses on freshness and fruit character, with a strong commitment to environmental sustainability by avoiding pesticides and herbicides. Grapes are hand-harvested and undergo selection both in the vineyard and at the winery. Fermentation occurs in 1874 concrete tanks, ideal for maintaining appropriate temperatures during alcoholic and malolactic fermentation. The wine is aged for 6 months in 500L oak barrels, followed by 12 months of maturation in the winery, enhancing its complexity and depth.
